I read this article on Resident Advisor a little while back and thought it was nice to read something that shines a bit of light on the subject of the opening DJ.
Few people realize the high level of importance related to this slot; and I’m sure that many would be surprised at how many DJs live for the opening slot at any party. Even some headliners prefer the opening slot although, the pressure is the same no matter what time you’re playing; the challenge remains the same: to keep the groove, and make people move - and this means so much more than just dancing.
